MONDAY CLASSES WITH WDTS AT ORTON WATERVILLE VILLAGE HALL, PETERBOROUGH

FUN AGILITY 6.30 - 7pm

with Sylvia Carter

(Training Fees £3 per dog)

This class runs from aprox March/April - August/September, weather permitting as this is an outdoor class on grass although we will move indoors on rubber matting in bad weather.

 

"Have a Go Agility" - This is a FUN agility class which teaches you and your dog how to use the equipment safely and gives both you and your dog the opportunity to have some fun and enjoyment.  Please remember this is NOT professional agility this is Agility for Fun.   If you wish to take up competition agility you would need to find an Agility Club.

PLEASE NOTE this class is not suitable for puppies and ALL dogs must be under control and have basic obedience knowledge.

BEGINNER OBEDIENCE  - 7pm - 7.35pm (from 4 months of age)

Everyone enjoys owning a well behaved dog or may be you have experienced problems teaching your dog, come along and join one of our 9 WEEK COURSES (the first week being an Induction night) where we can teach you how to get the best out of YOUR dog.  You will be taught heelwork (walking your dog on a loose lead) - Recall (getting your dog to come to you on command) - Sit & Down Stays (teaching your dog to stay on the lead) - Socialising (helping your dog to inter act with other dogs and people)  9 WEEK COURSE Includes short Induction on the first Night - Please be good enough to leave your dogs at home on the Induction Night, this will give us the opportunity to explain the proceedures, exercises etc., in a quiet environment allowing you to sit and enjoy a cup of tea with us, avoiding the inevitable excitement caused when new dogs all meet for the very first time)



ELEMENTARY OBEDIENCE 7.35pm - 8.10pm

For those who have 'Passed' the Beginners course this class follows on, improving on the exercises you have already learnt and with the addition of introducing your dog to hands on examination (as would be applicable at a Veterinary Surgery), this class also includes socialising on the move, intro to recall to heel and prepares your dog for the Intermediate Class which progresses to working off lead.

INTERMEDIATE 8.10pm - 8.50pm

(Training Fees all classes £4 per dog or £6 for 2 dogs)

 

Dogs progress from Elementary to this class once they have achieved an acceptable level of understanding of the exercises taught.

This class still encourages the fun aspect to training your dog with the addition of Recall to Heel and introduction to the Retrieve, starting to work off lead with longer distance stays etc.

For those dogs achieving an understanding of the above exercises progression can be made into the Advance class

ADVANCE CLASS 8.50pm - 9.20pm

 (Training Fees all classes £4 per dog or £6 for 2 dogs)

 

This is the ultimate achievement for dogs and handlers.

In this class dogs are expected to complete all exercises to a high standard with the addition of the Send Away, Retrieve, Distance Control, Out of Sight Stays, Advanced Heel work, this class helps to prepare dogs and handlers for obedience competition at a lower level
